Standard From € 698,- p.p.
Luxury From € 879,- p.p.

Day 1   Colombo Airport – Hotel
We welcome you and arrange the transfer to your hotel after arrival at the airport in Colombo (CMB). Here we review our program with you and answer all of your questions regarding the tour. The rest of the day is to relax, so you can recover after your flight. Depending on your arrival time and your preferences, you can skip the relaxing time and start with your tour immediately by exploring Colombo for example!

Day 2   Colombo ‐ Pinnawela ‐ Kitulgala

After breakfast we drive to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. These giants get a daily bath in the nearby river, this is really something to see! Feeding and bathing these giants is possible, even taking a ride on the back of an elephant. Afterwards we visit the historical caves. Here the 16,000 years old remains of the Balangoda man were found. The caves are situated in a ledge at the top of a steep path which is only accessible on foot. From the ridge you have a wonderful view over the rainforest. Optionally we will experience an adventure on the water as we go whitewater rafting in the hill country of Sri Lanka. This wild water will give you a kick but it is still safe enough for children and people who can’t swim very well.

Day 3    Kitulgala – Horton Plains and the “end of the world”

Today we go to Horton Plains; a nature reserve which is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vast grassland landscapes alternate with beautiful cloud forests and you can spot many animals. On foot we arrive at “the end of the world.” Here the mountain ends in a deep abyss of more than one kilometre. It offers fantastic views of the area.

Day 4    Nuwara Eliya – Ella

In the morning we will visit the botanical gardens first and then the hills with tea plantations. We make the most magnificent journey by train; through mountains, breath taking landscapes and cascading waterfalls towards the town of Ella. Here we spend some time to swim in the natural pool of a waterfall and we end our day with a cooking workshop in a real spice garden where we learn all about cultivating herbs and preparing the real Sri Lankan curries. These homemade creations are then of course our tasty diner.

Day 5  Yala National Park – Bundala bird sanctuary – Rekawa turtles

Very early in the morning we take a jeep safari through the Yala National Park where we will search for the world’s largest leopards. Come face to face with elephants, buffaloes, jackals and bears. Enjoy the monkeys swinging from tree to tree, and view many reptiles such as crocodiles and snakes. After lunch we visit an ornithological park with a huge amount of birds. Prepare for groups of flamingos, hornbills, storks, parrots … and enjoy all the beauty that nature has to offer. Our day ends in a nocturnal adventure; We drive with a local tricycle (a tuk-tuk) to the protected beach of Rekawa and see turtles come ashore to dig their nests and lay their eggs. With some luck you may even see a nest hatch!

Day 6    Canoeing on the lagoon – blow hole – pole anglers

The morning trip is fun for bird watchers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the tranquillity. Paddle at your own pace through this beautiful lagoon with your canoe, search the many animals that hide in the surrounding greenery and listen to nothing but the sound of the birds and waves in the background. There are only seven places in the world which are allowed to call themselves “blowhole” and one of them is located in the south of Sri Lanka. It is a natural wonder formed in the middle of the cliffs. Here is a small opening through which seawater rises up, giving the impression of a large fountain. Finally we visit a very special fishing village, their way of fishing is unique throughout the world. The pole anglers balancing on a thin stick, seeking balance with one hand and the rod in the other.

Day 7    Mirissa -Sinharaja rainforest

You can take a boat trip early in the morning in search of whales, dolphins and sperm whales or have some time to relax on the beach. In the afternoon we explore the last pristine rainforest in Sri Lanka on foot. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989. Here we will find – besides the many jungle inhabitants – two beautiful waterfalls of 50 to 60 meters high.

Day 8    Colombo

Today is the last day of our tour and we go back to Colombo. Depending on your departure time and your preferences you can do some sightseeing or souvenir shopping on our last day. Here you can catch a flight home or you can chose to extend your holiday at one of the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka or the Maldives.

The end of a beautiful experience and a memorable tour!
